20 Artwork Sales
Art and artwork... the image and creating it. By appreciating and doing - always working towards an increasing degree of understanding and accomplishment - I know that my artwork is saying something. I also enjoy the craft... the manipulation of materials and media which is obviously visual and tactile (some even having interesting smells) rather than any form of digital creation or pixel manipulation. In “doing” art I find there are other benefits... my photographic eyes are opened to other ways of seeing and thus expressing... and my appreciation of life benefits too.
By purchasing any of the pieces listed below, the buyer and collector is helping me to continue a creative process which began nearly fifty years ago. It was as a teenager at grammar school that I sold a number of my paintings to friends and work colleagues of my parents, to a private nursing home in Manchester, and to “patrons” James Norbury (one of the Top-Ten Knitters in the world) and Neville Rawlinson, whose two diverse collections included now rather valuable works by artists from L.S.Lowry and Howard Hodgkin to Ivon Hitchens and Henri Gaudier-Brzeska... so I felt in exalted company!
If one day my artwork has a much increased value on the open market then your investment will have been more than worth it... although, and perhaps more importantly, you will have had the pleasure of displaying something original on your walls.
To fit in with the “20/20 Visions” website title the above listing is for twenty pieces of my “art on paper.” However, it will be continually updated and rotated as I complete more pieces and replace those items which have been bought by collectors. Sometimes a predominant theme will be listed as I continue working on a particular series whereas at other times the selection will be random... so bookmark this page and come back occasionally to see what I am currently working on and offering.
A selection of paintings and graphic works on paper from my personal collection by various artists, including internationally known Alan Davie and the late Norman Stevens, will be described and itemized for sale in a separate “20 Art by Others” listing being planned.
