This seductive portrait of a young woman was created and printed by Tony McLean - a UK based photographer noted for his large-format camera work and experiments with “alternative” darkroom processes. This “one-off” image, however, was made with grainy 35mm Fuji 1600 film which combines beautifully with the texture of Kentmere Art Classic paper and the delicate peach-purple colouring of the Lith process which is difficult to replicate.
The image size is approximately 9 x 13 inches (23 x 33 cms) on 15.75 x 11.25 (40 x 28.5 cms) and was hand-printed using the specialist “Lith” process on Kentmere Art Classic fibre paper, Selenium toned and air-dried to archival processing standards.
Note that the on-screen image has less visible detail, slightly different contrast, colour tone and overall sharpness compared to the real photograph. However, if you like the on-screen image you will love the actual signed photograph framed on your wall.
